Legacy Media’s Cover-Up: Blaming Everything but Elon Musk and Donald Trump for Recent Airplane Crashes
The mainstream media has once again demonstrated its talent for selective reporting, carefully avoiding any scrutiny of Elon Musk and Donald Trump while bending over backward to blame other factors for the alarming rise in airplane crashes. Following Trump’s decision to gut FAA leadership and Musk’s increased influence in aerospace, several high-profile aviation disasters have occurred, yet the press remains conspicuously silent on these connections.
The FAA Shake-Up: What Really Happened?
Donald Trump’s tenure was marked by sweeping deregulation efforts, particularly in aviation safety. His administration aggressively rolled back key oversight policies, sidelined experienced officials, and replaced them with industry insiders more focused on profit than public safety. More recently, Musk—who has vested interests in private and commercial aviation—has been reported to wield outsized influence over regulatory bodies, further undermining safety protocols.
These changes have left the FAA in a weakened state, struggling to enforce safety standards. Yet, when planes started dropping from the sky, the media shifted focus away from these root causes.
Legacy Media’s Deflections: Who’s Getting the Blame Instead?
Instead of investigating the real culprits, legacy outlets have published a series of articles that attribute the recent crashes to everything from climate change to pilot shortages and even so-called “software glitches.”
Here are some examples:
- The New York Times ran a piece claiming that extreme weather events caused by climate change are making flying more dangerous, subtly shifting blame away from human decision-makers.
- CNN focused on pilot fatigue and understaffing, implying that airline mismanagement—not weakened federal oversight—was to blame.
- The Washington Post published an analysis pointing fingers at outdated plane software, ignoring the fact that the FAA’s recent lack of leadership has stalled crucial regulatory updates.
- NBC News framed the issue as part of a broader supply chain problem, suggesting that aircraft maintenance delays are simply an unfortunate economic consequence rather than a result of regulatory failure.
Why the Cover-Up?
It’s no secret that corporate media outlets have vested interests in protecting figures like Musk, whose businesses—including SpaceX and Tesla—maintain deep financial ties with government agencies. Similarly, Trump’s base and influence remain strong, and certain media organizations hesitate to directly challenge the deregulation policies he championed.
By failing to hold Musk and Trump accountable, legacy media ensures that the public remains unaware of how political decisions and corporate greed have compromised aviation safety. The real question is: How many more crashes will it take before the truth is acknowledged?
